This Premium Wireless Headset Is Ideal For Video Meetings And Phone Calls

The market for headsets is on fire right now because so many of us are working remotely at home and we need to take part in video meetings or for calling customers. A good headset that’s comfortable to wear and with clear speech is essential for most homeworkers. 

The latest wireless headset to turn up on my desk for review comes from eMeet, a company that makes some excellent speakerphones that I’ve reviewed in the past. Unlike speakerphones, headsets are perfect for quieter and more private conversation when working in an open-plan office or alongside other homeworkers.

The new EMEET HS100 Premium headset is equipped with four microphones Two pick up the speaker’s voice while two more microphones monitor surrounding noise to help the main microphones cancel noise. The noise-canceling microphones are ideal for cutting out some unwanted sounds in an office, such as air-conditioning or colleagues holding noisy meetings.

The HS100 uses VoiceIA audio processing technology to make the user’s voice sound crisper and clearer than a budget PC headset that might only have one microphone.  Premium headsets are ideal for taking part in online conferences, video meetings, online training sessions, home office use or for a call center.

There are three operating modes available with the EMEET HS100. The first is Mute mode which mutes the user’s voice when listening. The second mode is “Do Not Disturb” and this illuminates a blue reminder light on each earcup that tells colleagues that the user shouldn’t be interrupted. The third mode is called Ambient and can be switched on when the user needs to speak to colleagues or to hear what’s going on in the office without having to take the headset off. 

Each of the HS100’s earcups has ultra-soft cushions and a plump and adjustable headband so the headset can be worn all day without discomfort. The headset can fold up small for carrying to and from working or stowing away in a desk drawer. EMEET has managed to get the HS100’s comfort levels just right and the thick cushions provide great passive noise reduction. A full charge of the internal batteries can provide up to 24 hours of continuous talking time and the user can even plug in the supplied USB cable for unlimited playtime.

The EMEET HS100 Bluetooth wireless headset supports voice prompts in seven languages and there’s also Windows software so the headset can be updated with the latest firmware and can also be used to rename how the headset shows up when pairing over Bluetooth. It could be renamed with a worker’s name to stop the headset from being accidentally mixed up. The software can also be used to enable sidetalk and microphone noise-canceling levels.

There are quite a few controls on the headset including separate mute controls for the microphone and speakers. A multifunction button and volume controls are on the left-hand ear cup plus the right hand ear cup has a button for allowing ambient sounds to be fed into the headset. When it comes to sidewalk, there is a function that enables the user to hear their own voice when speaking. It’s an important feature that means you don’t end up shouting when making calls. It’s not the best implantation of sidetone I’ve ever heard but it’s adequate.

With a Bluetooth range of 10m, the HS100 can connect to a smartphone or computer via regular Bluetooth or by using the high-quality USB dongle for use with computers that don’t have advanced Bluetooth with phone protocols. The headset can also be connected to a computer via the supplied USB cable. There’s also support for multipoint Bluetooth that enables the headset to connect with two Bluetooth devices at the same time. For example, this feature can connect to a computer and a smartphone so the user can chat on the computer and then switch to pick up a phone call coming through on the smartphone. Finally, the EMEET HS100 headset works with the most popular communications platforms, such as Zoom, Skype and Google Hangout etc.

Verdict: For anyone who’s looking for a comfortable Bluetooth headset with great voice quality and lots of useful extras, the EMEET HS100 offers unbeatable value for money. The headset feels comfortable to wear and the noise-canceling microphones cut down on unwanted background sounds being picked up. I particularly like the ability to connect with a regular Bluetooth connection as well as the more advanced Bluetooth dongle and a USB cable. There’s a lot on offer here for the money. There’s software available for adjusting settings for both PC and Mac users. Overall. the EMEET HS100 Premium headset offers good value for money and very effective performance.
